About PFC Fundraising
The Parent Faculty Club (PFC) engages in a number of fundraising efforts and activities for the purpose of meeting financial needs that are not being met with state and district funding. These efforts will be aimed at securing the greatest opportunities in physical, mental and social education for every Northwood Elementary School student. If you would like to volunteer at any of these events, please contact Denise Horn or visit our Parent Involvement page.

PFC Events Back to School Night Back-to-School night is a fun opportunity to meet faculty and other parents as well as gain information and learn how you can get involved and help with school events and fundraisers. Northwood Carnival Come and have a great time at our Annual Northwood Carnival - Family Fun, Food, Games and Prizes all on one Playground! Past themes have included Pirates!, Space!, Olympics!, and More! Created and staffed by Northwood families and students, this fantastic three hours is always a highlight of the school year! Book Fair The Scholastic Book Fair is held in the Northwood Library and open to families for purchasing some really great books at low prices. Not only do they have books for children, they have books for adults, such as cookbooks, as well.
Read-a-Thon The Read-a-thon is the second of three major fundraisers for Northwood School. The Read-a-thon begins at the end of January with an informational kick-off assembly, and lasts the whole month of February. This fundraiser is 2-fold, focusing on encouraging daily reading and raising funds for our school. Reading with your child or siblings and reading to each other, are two great ways to accumulate minutes on your reading log. Prizes for minutes read are distributed weekly and prizes for pledges collected will be distributed at our prize assembly. Get Hooked on Books!
Open House The Northwood Elementary School Open House is held late in the school year so students can showcase their work they did throughout the year. In addition, students and parents will enjoy exploring the classrooms that they can look forward to attending in the next year. A casual dinner is available to purchase. This is a fun way to visit with students and other Northwood families.
Field Day Field day is a three hour event that takes place at the end of the school year. The playground and field is packed with activities for all students to participate in. The activities include a jump house, obstacle courses, water relays, tug of war, gunny sack races and much more. There is always a great deal of parent participation with this event. Everyone is welcome to attend.
