KINDERGARTEN
OPEN ENROLLMENT REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Registration begins February 1st, 2012.
Based on the Kindergarten Readiness Act of 2010,
children who turn 5 years old before November 1st, 2012 qualify for kindergarten.
Children who will turn 5 years old between November 1st - December 2nd, 2012
may apply to attend a Transitional Kindergarten program within NVUSD.

Transitional Kindergarten Program
This program is for students delayed in kindergarten enrollment because of the change in age requirements. Parents must complete an "Intent to Register" form at their neighboring school. Open enrollment begins February 1st, 2012.
Documents You Will Need to Register and Bring with You:
- Child's birth certificate
- Immunization records
- 2 documents verifying your address (i.e., P.G. & E., water, phone, cable, rental agreement, etc.).
- Photo identification for parents/guardians are required
Immunization Requirements:
- 3 doses of hepatitis B vaccine
- 4 doses of polio or 3 doses if one dose was given after the 4th birthday
- 5 doses of DPT or 4 doses if one dose was given after the 4th birthday
- 2 doses of Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), a Varicella (Chicken Pox) vaccination or health care provider-documented Varicella disease or immunity, before entering school.
If you have any questions regarding your child's immunization record, please contact your physician or the Napa County Health Department. The Napa County Immunization Clinic is held every Tuesday, 1:00-5:30 p.m. and every Thursday, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary and there is no charge for school required immunizations. The Napa County Health Department is located at 2344 Old Sonoma Rd., Building G, Napa. Their telephone number is (707) 253-4270.
Many neighborhood schools are expected to fill to capacity quickly, so parents are urged to register their children Beginning February 1st, 2012. Once a school is full, additional children may have to be sent to other schools where space is available.
To verify your school of residence please contact your neighborhood school.
All students retain the right to attend their resident school if their open enrollment application is not accepted to attend another school.
